the cake aesthetic is immaculate! my go-to spot for cakes-- they are so beautiful and well designed. i love the range of small sizes, they are perfect and make sure none of it is wasted.

the chocolate on chocolate is delicious-- every chocolate lovers dream! I love the vanilla bean and its perfect the next day with morning tea.

I like the easy ordering process and prompt text communication. They are always quick to respond and helps make coordinating cakes for special occasions stress free!

Best cake in town! Butter& is very innovative in their flavors and design detail. Great flavor options and the cakes are so delicious. I’ve ordered a wedding cake, several birthday cakes and pop by for the occasional guilty pleasure slice. Highly recommend!!

We were introduced to Butter& by a friend’s birthday cake. Her sesame birthday cake was so delicious, light and full of flavor. Based on this experience we decided to use Butter& for our wedding/elopement cake.

The wedding cake was breathtaking and reminded us of the Japanese art of Kintsugi (joining with gold). The butter cream was so light it melts on the tongue. The fresh flowers added a beautiful elegance to our special day.

They kept us updated via texts with a picture and delivered the cake exactly on time. We were not nervous about the delivery.

Numerous people commented on the beauty of the cake.

The whole process was smooth from ordering online to picking up the cake. They have a loading zone right in front of their store so it was super easy to park, run in and pick up the cake, and go. The instructions for leaving out the cake at room temperature were perfect and the cake tasted amazing. We will definitely be back whenever we have special occasions to celebrate!

We have had two wonderful experiences with Butter&! Stopped in one day to try a few slices of their cake prior to placing an order for our wedding. They also offer tasting boxes but we were nearby and popped in. Staff was so kind and helpful!

Our online ordering experience for our wedding was easy-we even were able to make a date/change to delivery without any issues and had great communication.

We went for something quite simple (small plain round and expose cake) and it was perfect for a reception of 40. As an avid home baker I wanted Butter& because their cakes are as elegant as they are delicious. The delivery/courier service was excellence as well. It was important that they also offered a gluten free option which was so delicious in flavor and in texture.

As for the flavor (brown butter/meyer lemon) it was an absolute hit with every single guest. We had several guests share that they don't even like cake (can you imagine?!) and they loved it. Between the amount of cake we got and the delivery, the price felt like a great value to us.

The whole process from ordering to delivery and enjoyment was such a great experience and would absolutely recommend!

We got our wedding cake from here a year ago and were blown away by how amazing the cake was! Being a SF native and having heard how good Butter& is from friends we knew this was the cake we wanted for our wedding. Not only do they make beautiful cakes, but it is truly the best cake I’ve ever had. And the customer service is beyond! For our anniversary we got a mini cake which was very well priced and it was perfection as usual. This is our favorite cake ever and loved getting a mini version for our anniversary! The design turned out lovely and the taste was amazing as always. I just wish we live in the bay so we could eat it more!

I recently had the pleasure of ordering from Butter& in Dogpatch, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The shop itself is absolutely charming—a beautiful building with an inviting space that makes you want to linger and enjoy.

One of the best features is that they offer slices of their cakes, so you can sample different flavors before committing to a full cake.

I ordered a cake online without seeing it in person, but their detailed descriptions and images made it easy to make the right choice. When I picked it up, I knew instantly I had chosen well. To my surprise they even provided a gorgeous golden candle to top off the cake, without me having to ask. The instructions for handling and serving the cake were clear and concise, and their communication throughout the process was excellent.

But the real star was the cake itself. It was one of the best I've ever tasted, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. One of my guests, who is 72 years old and has had plenty of cake in his life, said he had never had a better one. That says it all!

If you're looking for a cake that not only looks stunning but tastes even better, Butter& is the place to go. I can't recommend them highly enough.
